Adobes PDF technology is utilized for full single and multi-page PDF support
Open, View, Annotate, and Print PDF files
Choose when to use the Prizm Viewer to display PDF files
Optimize delivery of PDF documents from web-based document management systems
A custom PDF MIME type is supported to use the Prizm Viewer for delivery of PDF files from the server without the use of Image List Files
Use the same annotations feature for both TIFF and PDF images
Choose whether PDF files will be viewed as color or bitonal images for use with the Viewer using Preferences
Choose how annotations in PDF files are handled (burn them into the image or ignore them) using Preferences - TIFF (single and multiple page, stripped, and tiled) in these formats:

Uncompressed
Modified Huffman
Group 3 1D & 2D
Group 4
PackBits
JPEG - Military/Government Specific formats:

NIRS/NIFF
C4 (JEDMICS)
CALS Type 1 (Group 4)
CALS Type 2 (TRIF) - JPEG (Baseline DCT)
- GIF
- PCX/DCX
- BMP
- File Association

Set file associations in the Preferences dialog
Choose which types of files will be associated with the Prizm Viewer within Internet Explorer
Specify different associations for local images than for images transferred from the Internet
Virtual Multi-Page Document
- Image List Files offer the convenience of a multi-page TIFF file
- Create "virtual documents" from individual images so you can treat them as multi-page images
- Quickly view a series of documents as if it were a single multi-page TIFF file
- Batch print large collections of documents without having to view each document
- Customizable lists of images mimics a multi-page image file that can be paged through
- Page through using:

Next/previous page
First/last page
Go to a specific page - Delivers all the convenience of a multi-page TIFF file without the bandwidth requirements of downloading multi-page TIFF files
Large Image Support
- The Prizm Viewer has long been known for its excellent support of large
images, especially those used in engineering environments.

Handles images as large as 50 x 333
Caches images (partially or completely) for instantaneous rescaling
Handles up to 4000 tiles of different compression types and dimensions, including null tiles
Birds Eye View (reference window) indicates your current position on the image while remaining zoomed in to a particular area (see example)

Magnifying Glass lets you dynamically magnify a particular area of an image (great for tracing wires)
Print Acceleration can print large size engineering drawings to Postscript printers up to 80% faster that the same files printed through a standard Windows driver
Optional Roll Form Printing - For users with Postscript roll form printers, this option can make it easier to print large engineering drawings by designating the paper roll and allowing the Prizm Viewer to calculate the correct length and width for the drawing.
Segmented printing support allows users to print extremely large engineering drawings over multiple pages
Enhance Image Display Quality
- Improve both color and bitonal (black/white) images
- Smooth out the blockiness that often occurs with highly-magnified images, over compressed, or poorly scanned documents
- Bitonal images:

Scale-to-gray (4 shades or 16 shades)
Draft, normal, or high quality
Invert colors - Color images:

Color smoothing (low, medium, high)
Color anti-aliasing
Dark preservation
Normal or high quality
SCALE-TO-GRAY IMAGE ENHANCEMENT

BEFORE
AFTER
Notice the blockiness of poorly scanned or low resolution images (BEFORE). Scale-to-gray smoothes out blockiness to improve readability (AFTER).
Annotations
- Collaborate on document images using annotations
- Annotate multiple types of documents (i.e. PDF and TIFF) with the same annotation set
- Permissions to view, edit, print and delete annotations
- Move, resize and edit annotations
- Create, save and easily edit annotations later
- Hide & show annotations with a single click
- Multiple annotation types

Boxes or ellipses - hollow or filled
Lines - with or without arrows
Highlighting - yellow transparent background
Stamp Annotations - rectangular or ellipse stamp annotations with customizable text and automatic date fill
Text - format font, size, color and much more - Associated notes - you can associate a note with the annotations above
- Pop-up notes - a handy notepad icon opens and accepts large amounts of text, then returns to the small icon shape (simply click the icon to view the text)
- Check for annotations - save time by switching off the annotation checking feature
- Annotations can be saved locally and/or to the server
- Send annotations to server, including secure servers
- Samples included: CGI & ASP annotation server examples to facilitate
deployment, allowing you to extend the capabilities of your web server to
support annotation permissions. These samples provide a framework that can
be customized to your organization's needs.

- Hyperlink images, text, and websites
- Hyperlink documents to other URLs to associate document images, such as
diagrams, service instructions, parts manuals, engineering drawings,
contracts, web site information

Manage User Permissions & Preferences
- Configure and save preferences according to user needs, at either the administrator level or the user level
- Flying magnifier - size and magnification factor
- Types of image enhancements - apply to bitonal and color images independently
- Initial style of display - (full image, full width, actual size) apply to bitonal and color images independently
- Annotation settings - default color, line width, arrow style, font, etc.
- Left mouse button actions:

Mark a selection
Zoom on selection
Hand panning
Flying magnifier - Reference window (Bird's Eye View)
- Toolbar display - switch off/on
- Proxy Settings - identify a proxy server to use when accessing annotations or image file lists on the web
- Printing Preferences - identify how images should be printed (full image, actual size), activate accelerated print support, and specify header and footer text to be printed

Works just like a magnifying glass over paper to magnify the area directly beneath the magnifier tool - Bird's Eye View (reference window)

Locate your current position on the image while zoomed in on a particular area of the image
Flying Magnifier

- Navigate zoomed or large images in a variety of ways:

Scrollbars move you around on the zoomed image
Hand pan grabs the image and moves it around in the window
Rotate the image 900 clockwise or counterclockwise
Previous Page and Next Page traverse multi-page images
Go To Page for precise navigation of multi-page images
